Elephant Man Model Completed

Keeping busy with my friends at Blue Duck Studios. We have begun work on a new feature length film. 
I am really excited to begin filming in a few weeks.











Update on the Elephant Man Project:

I have baked the high poly ZBrush model into the low poly version in Maya. I have also created the texture as well as the specular, opacity and bump maps. There may be some minor tweaking here and there, but all and all this model is complete.

Getting into Zbrush

Tons of fun projects going on right now. I have been blessed with some of the best artist friends around. I’ve been keeping busy with movie premieres, pitching in on animated light doodles, and learning new programs! Now I am back to the elephant man.







The elephant man has a completed basic mesh 2836 Quad, 5642 Tris. This is not including the eyes at this point.  The model has been UV mapped. The texture is a very basic flat color texture meant as a placeholder.





This model has been my first attempt using Zbrush. I am working through teaching myself the program, utilizing online tutorials and some tips from friends.  These are some snap shots of what I have created so far.

Blast from the past


This video has some of the models that I contributed to Project Gunther as well as a game summary/walk through. Enjoy University of Maryland Baltimore County’s, Game Developers Club 2009, 3D project!

Side note: This game is running on an engine that was completely written and developed by Students at UMBC!

Work in progress

I have been busy at work, so I haven't gotten as far on this as I had hoped I would be by this point.  So this is an update on what I have done so far.

The head is done for now. His chest armor and torso are getting close to being done, but there are plenty of fine touches to iron out. I have started on the legs and arms, but there is not much to show on them yet, so you will just have to wait for the next update.  I do plan to take this model into ZBrush.

I'm beginning to model a set for this character as well.  There will be more pictures coming in the next few weeks.
